fish friends??

you can boil it until it sinks. snails like dead plants also. i have never feed my snails before. they just get whats left. if you go with common or pond snails they will breed as long as there is food. so if you start out with a few of them they will keep breeding until there is no more extra food.

I've always had good luck with snails, so here goes... Snails will clean up any left over flake foods, work your algae and go looking for more. Suppliment their diet with algae wafer every other day, and once a week drop in a slice of blanched cucumber or zuchini. Take it out a day or so later before it can start to spoil in your tank. This will keep your snails on a varied diet, and they will continue to roam the tank cleaning for you. In a ten gallon tank, you're not going to have a huge algae supply growing on the glass and the plants, so supplimenting their diet every other day, or even every third day will keep your snails healthy, and keep them working for you.

i have a snail.. and i just let him sit in the tank.. he eats when he feels like it. i wouldt worry about him starving.. when i had him in a 10 gal. tank he was constantly sucking on stuff. theres plenty for his tiny tummy. i wouldnt put more then one snail in your tank unless there different species.. they multiply llike CRAAAZZZy!. ever to go wal mart and see there collection of snails..? its rediculous. but if you want more then one algea sucker then just get snails that are different species.

there are some fish that eat algea.. just look for bottom feeders.

plecos are no good. too big for your tank.
