I thought I'd post a few fish from a recent trip to Kentucky.
I wonder why people bother with tropicals sometimes:)

We had a great time getting in the water and seeing so many beautiful fishes. I can't wait to do it again.

My understading is that our natives are big in europe.

Beautiful fish, I'm a fan of darters and sunfish though I don't keep them currently, you need a big tank.

Very cool! Makes me want to set up a native tank.

You really don't need a big tank for most NA native fish. Unless you consider a 55 gallon and 20 gallon long tank large. Most sunfish (Lepomis genus) can be held comfortably in a 55 gallon and most darters stay about 3". No need to think about buying a huge tank for natives as long as you stay away from the big fish. Goldfish get bigger than many natives.

ive never seen an Ohio lamprey before. heh, sunfish would be fun to raise, "Could you pass the lemon butter please?"

Wow I can't wait to set up my native tank. I currently have a few sunfish in a 20g long just waiting for the 55 to finish being set up. I have a few long ear sunfish a pumpkinseed and a couple of blue gills that I accidentally kept. I am looking for someone to take the blue gills.
