Seems that everyone on here is having new fish born in their tank. I want to have fish that breed, but i DON"T want guppies, they multiply to quickly.

What kind of fish is fairly easy to breed, but won't overtake my tank? Any suggestions?

an Albino Bristlenose pleco!!! awesome fish. Easy to breed and the lfs sells them fast! One store here sells them for $40.00!!!

edit: The father bristlenose will take care of the eggs and fry... PLus..when you breed the, they can make you alot of money!

White Cloud Mountain Minnows Tanichthys albonubes. You couldn't ask for a prettier fish. They like cooler water, so you don't really need to heat the tank (they're happy right down to the low 60s). They aren't demanding supersoft water (i see you're in Dakota) and though they scatter eggs like barbs they don't chase them down to gobble them. Give the young enough cover (Java Moss and other easy plants like Hornwort) and the parents enough to eat and you can raise some fry in an uncrowded tank.

A dozen fish in a 15-gallon or 20-gallon tank. Let them increase on their own...

albino bristlenose isnt a bad idea, however i'd assume that albinoism is a recessive gene not a dominant one...Translation, you will get alot of non albinos in a breeding then Albinos...Also, arn't true albinos sterile??? I may be wrong about this though....I'd try some sort of sa/ca cichlid...Atleast you would get a few bucks for them. Angle fish are also quite popular and not too tough to breed.

Neon Rainbows breed quite easily, and aren't hard to sell. They breed every morning though, so sometimes it is a bit harder to get up to good numbers. Actually most rainbows aren't hard to breed at all.

I've found White Clouds are just as hard to get rid of as Guppies and Kribensis.

I bred my albino bristlenose and each batch each fry looks the same. They are a GOLD color. IM thinking maybe they are named albino...but infact, there not a true albino. Albino is white right? I never seen a fry that wasnt gold. each batch has about 20 eggs. Hoever, can reach more. The mother is still young. A REALLY nice pleco that will eat ALL your algae and then some.

Edit:

PLUS ANY LFS would LOVe to have your fry when they get big enough. You will also get top $$$ for them..
