I've seen them a few times & I forgot the name of them. They're an african cichlid that sort of resemble a peacock. They're mainly black w/ a blue face & a white tip on the dorsal fin... I've been looking for pictures, but I dont have a name to go with the description, any ideas??

and if it helps... I'm pretty sure, atleast the owner of the one LFS said it was Victorian...

may have found it... possibly a Aulonocara sp. "chitande type masinje" .... unless there's somthing else (probably) that looks just like it...

Rams are South American. Aulonocara species are from Malawi rather than Victoria.

It is nice looking! Is that the fish GusBus27?

Sweet that is a nice looking fish and nice egg spots with the purples..

Thanks for the link buddy..

Sorry about the poor (cu)ality (cue button doesn't work) of the pictures, but this is what he looks like. Just got my cord for transferring pictures.

GPRC- I think it looks a lot like the picture you posted, only mine doesn't have as good of colors yet, the egg spots are the same, just not as noticeable yet.

I realize I said he "might" be Victorian, and that Aulonocara is Malawi, but the closest thing I could find is the Aulonocara "mesinje". And no it isn't a pundamilia nyererie (i have 3, hopefully a breeding trio).
