Fish ID Please

I got this fish off of a friend who didn't know what it was. Does anyone here? He thinks it's an african cichlid but it doesn't look like any of the Mbuna I have (Auratus, rusty etc). Thanks.

no not auratus

looks more like a hap to me... it has the characteristic big lips
i've never seen it before
not even sure its rift lake....

Itis a rift lake cichlid. Some have the thick lips to lock on to a small crevice and suck whatever is init/ I do not remember the name though!

Posting more pics tonight

I think the compriceps has a higer back and it's a bit thinner, coloration is similair though. I'll try to take some side profile shots tonight and post them.

this might also help- how old and how big is this fish?

The fish is about year and a half old and I'd say a little over 4 inches long.
