Hey Everyone!

I'm newish to this forum, been here for a while but thus far have just been lurking around. I'm not new to aquariums, I've had freshwater tanks for years, and have been trying my hand at various cichlid species for the last 7 years or so. I'm finally taking the jump into saltwater, mainly because I just got back from a trip to Tobago and after some diving trips said "I want THAT!" :grinyes: Anyways, down to bussiness, I'm setting up a 75gal as a FOWLR. This is what I have in mind so far for fish, even though most of them stay on the smallish side is still seems as though I have too many potentials.
-A group of ~6 blue reef chromis (Chromis cyaneus) OR 3 yellow tailed damsels
-A group of 5 or 6 Banggai Cardinals (Pterapogon kauderni)
-A group of 3-4 Ocellaris Clownfish
-1 Mimic saddle puffer filefish (Paraluterus prionurus) OR 1 Red tail filefish (Pervagor melanocephalus)
-1 Indigo Hamlet (Hypoplectrus indigo)
- and MAYBE 1 Flame Pygmy Angel (Centropyge loriculus) OR 1 Bicoloy Pygmy Angel (Centropyge bicolor)

Does that sound like too much? Any suggestions?

Thanks! :)

That's weird. That is pretty much exactly what I want in my tank once my cycle is over.

I'm thinking that the quantities you have specified might be a bit much for the system. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in. I've always been bad at judging stocking numbers.

I guess the damsels I could go without without too much heartache, I love the banggai cardinals and the clowns, I love the hamlets, I'd even be willing to set up a tank for just one by himself if I had the room, and the filefish are great, I could live without the pygmy angels I think. So how does this sound then...
5 or 6 Banggai cardinals
4 ocellaris clowns (if I end up with a mated pair I will remove the others)
1 Indigo Hamlet
1 filefish (either the red tail or the mimic sadle puffer filefish.

that sounds a bit better I think?

every fish is different....so is every ones opinion...but 4 clown fish is alot...if u can get away with it and have areas set up for them to swim to maybe but if u do go with it i wish u the best of luck....

Better yes but I think you should go with only 2 clownfish. You might run into a problem with the hamlet going after any fish that are smaller than it. I don't know that much about filefish, I love their looks but they are a no in my reef.
