I decided to put all80% of the 20 gallon tank's water I have in a cooler and add the fish in there. It's in the bathroom right now.

I did this so we won't have a hard time moving the tank/stand around since we're laminating the floors. I can probably put them back in the tank later tonight.

Also, this is my first week of cycle, it's white clouds. I'm doing a water change anyways that's why I did this.

Should I not? Any thoughts?

I don't know much of anything about white clouds, but I would think that putting most fish in a cooler is ok as long as: It is big enough for big fish, there is no soap/detergent residue in it, and if they stay in there for longer than a few hours that they have a heater, possibly an airstone/filter/something to splash or bubble a little bit. (gives 'em oxygen) other than that, I wouldn't worry too much. put them someplace that they won't get moved around any more than you can help it.

Oh man. I didn't really clean/rinse the cooler since I didn't really think of putting the fish. I just thought about it while putting water in the cooler to throw out. I guess I should just hope nothing bad is in there. I'll try hooking up the filter/heater in there since It'll take more 5 more hours till we're done.
