I think you're kind of missing the point I was trying to make. If these people are trying to convey the fact that the fish in the floral arrangements are returned to a proper environment after they've served their purpose as a decorative element in a piece of live art (to which I am not opposed) then why wouldn't they just come out and say so, rather than resorting to this "happily ever after" dodge?
I know what you mean, except, with so much confilicting information out there, on what "happily ever after" means for a betta, many many opinions state that it is the truth.
from LFS opinions, to online articles, many say that since these fish live in otherwise unacceptable conditions for regular fish in the wild, including tiny puddles of dirty mirky muddy water, that a bowl of fresh water is like staying at the Ritz Carlton for this fish. lol...
We're probably the minority out there of people who think that bettas truly do need a filtered fishtank to be stress free and "happy"...
