Fish in floral arrangements Unacceptable cruel

I think you're kind of missing the point I was trying to make. If these people are trying to convey the fact that the fish in the floral arrangements are returned to a proper environment after they've served their purpose as a decorative element in a piece of live art (to which I am not opposed) then why wouldn't they just come out and say so, rather than resorting to this "happily ever after" dodge?

I know what you mean, except, with so much confilicting information out there, on what "happily ever after" means for a betta, many many opinions state that it is the truth.

from LFS opinions, to online articles, many say that since these fish live in otherwise unacceptable conditions for regular fish in the wild, including tiny puddles of dirty mirky muddy water, that a bowl of fresh water is like staying at the Ritz Carlton for this fish. lol...

We're probably the minority out there of people who think that bettas truly do need a filtered fishtank to be stress free and "happy"...

The fact is that we all put our fish in environments that are non-ideal for them, it's just a matter of where we lie on the spectrum. Betta can survive in poor conditions, in a bowl etc. but as responsible fishkeepers we ask if they should.

Betta, and many other fish, have been bred for our amusement. In the wild they would be considered horribly deformed mutants. I think we have a responsibility to them to provide the best conditions that we can, but at the same time remember that we created them for us to enjoy. If that means being placed in a vase at a wedding then so be it. I'd prefer to know that fish in these conditions are found appropriate homes but the truth is that they probably are in bowls or a dead.

Kinda like how Europe decided to ban the import of seal products from Canada, which is such a minute number of imports when compared to the millions of slaughtered animals they bring in all the time, for food, clothes, shoes, etc.... Yet, seals are cute, so obviously they can't bring seals in the country. . . That would be immoral.
...

Cute animals are made of meat, and leather, they are meant to be eaten and used in a sustainable manner. Seal hunting is sustainable and humane, but they have a face that makes people who don't know better "feel" sorry for them so that's thrown out the window.
