Hi...I have had my fish tank for over 2 years and have enjoyed it very much but now it is time that I have to get rid of it. I only have two fish now one is a zebra fish (with a little fat belly) over 2 years old, and a bottom cleaner fish. Some of the others have died a few months ago.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew of where I can take the fish or what I should do with them. I was planning on selling the tank and the parts for it but I am unsure of what to do with the fish.

anyone know?

You can try selling the fish, or contact your LFS and see if they will accept them. Most stores will take back fish they still sell, though you won't get any money for them. Another option would be to list them on our classifieds, or Aquabid or something similar--also a great place to list your equipment.

Awesome...I will list those items on aquabid....didnt know there was one =)

as for the the fish, i think i might just take them back to the store...will have to think about that

i wish there was a place i could just set them free....hahaha

releasing ornamental fish into local waters is not recommended. They may introduce parasites or out compete local species. They also might just die pretty quickly because it is not their natural environment. They do not have good survival skills against large predators and may fall ill to sickness due to being in captivity. Also they may breed and over-run native species. If you truly cannot get anybody to take your fish or the local fish store won't accept them then you have to either keep them and let them live out their life or euthanize them.

Yah, I know I can't release them into local waters....I was just being silly.

I live in arizona Kilam...thanks though

I think they will probably be going back to the store

thanks for the advice
