fish poop eaters

I don't care if I still see It, I was just wondering if it would help absorb some of the toxins from leeching out into the water in between water changes if I put a plant in that spot.

The only toxins from fish waste that you should be really worried about is ammonia. Pretty much all plants will use some but it doesnt matter where they are put. And in a cycled tank it shouldnt even be a problem.

i think it would be best to NOT put any plants in that spot, as it will cause more of a buildup of poop. leaving the space open allows less of a build up, which means more will go into the filters where you can then remove it from the tank completely. otherwise, a powerhead or two small ones would be a good idea to move everything to one or two spots where it can be easily siphoned out. i have a 150g 5 ft tank, and between the canister and a small powerhead (cheap $10-15 from walmart), all poop builds up in one easy to reach spot. it's just a matter of tweaking it so you get the results you want.

i guess i have to say that the 150 is almost completely barebottom, so that does make it easier for debris to move around.
