fish poop

The only thing that eats poop is plants. Maybe congress.

Congress passes poop, just like the rest of us. (pun anyone)

My ghost shrimp dont really eat it, but they move it around sometimes... Not really to a better spot or anything, they just move it.

Good water movement and a school of Corydoras has always done the trick for me ;)

any bottom feeders will tend to stir up the substrate, if they kick the debris up and your water movement is good it gives it another opportunity to get swept into the intake. It's even easier with sand :D

I am changing to sand. I did half today and will do the rest in a week or so. It looks great and they seem to love it. The shrimp and most of the fish have moved to that side and are staying over there.

You will love it as well, I've noticed with my tank that the maintenance is MUCH easier, I vacuum my bottom once a month with 30% water changes a week. My corydoras stir up the sand enough so that i rarely, if ever, see debris on the bottom.

This would be me if I didn't have a big pooping machine, aka a pleco. Before I really knew what I was doing, I bought a baby common pleco for algae control (har har). Of course, he's a monster now and literally coats the bottom of my tank with poop daily. I don't think a shop vac could get it all.....
