Fish Prices?

I find that prices are all over the map.

Juveniles cost much less than adult fish. I see 3 tiers for clown loaches locally. Small-Medium-Large. The smalls are not expensive.

A quality young fish with good genes and excellent health that will give you enjoyment for many years is worth a few dollars.

An inferior fish or one in poor health that will die relatively soon (but always outside of the guarantee period) is no bargain at any price.

I agree that imports are much more expensive, probably due to transportation costs.

I remember a time when fish were sold as x number fish per dollar, not x number dollars per fish.

I think location has much to do with the price... If there is a local breeder in the area certain species may end up being cheaper than an area that doesn't have one.

My local Petsmart, In Gulfport MS, has them: L=$12.99. M=$8.99, I am guessing this matter is mostly dependent on geographic area

I'm in St. Louis too. Sorry about your power. I got lucky this last storm.

I believe I bought my juvis and they were reasonable, but very tiny. PM me if you want to know where, or can I write that on here?
