I spend most of my day down there He has really done a great job making it better for me. We have lots and lots of plans for it for improvement, but its a far cry from the single rack and no water I started with a year ago.
As for what teh countertop is made of, I really don't know. It was taken out of my husbands work (a powerplant) and seems to be some sort of stone composite or maybe concrete. Its pretty neat with a black snowflakey sort of appearance. I know it weighed a TON. It is soooooo much better than sitting on the cold concrete floor to pack boxes though!
Edit, just saw your question krytan. Right now there are 20 tanks running inthe basement. I have 3 more sitting outside and am planning to upgrade all the 10's to 29's or 20 longs. That will go on a rack not yet fabricate to hold 5-10 of each. Then I am going to get a 75g for the Oscar as he gets bigger and I have another 55g to put in. I am also goign to move a couple tanks from upstairs down to the fishroom after it gets more organized.
I think that is what it might be dirtydawg, it sure looks like it! It has a sink that matches and is of the same material. It apparently had a backsplash as well, but that wouldn't fit in my husbands little pickup at the time.
