Your doing a great thing!!
You know, to tell you the truth, I sometimes think the opposite of that. I am taking in free fish from the public, and being the kind of guy that gets easily attached to things, I haven't adopted anything out. Sure, I'm breeding Cichlids and selling them off. Just sold all of my Kribensis fry, but the pair was purchased buy me. The one thing that does keep me from adopting out is knowing the original homes that they came from. All of my rescues where in smaller tanks, or the same sized tanks, than what they are in now. Also, much cleaner tanks than some of the rescues came from.

And some people just have no clue of what their dealing with. The Oscar rescue that had the Albino; the owner said, and I quote,"I had no idea that they even got as big as they have!", and they're stunted! Had someone ask me recently what the Tilapia was, and if I would give it to them for their 30-Gallon. Jus the things that make me nervous not knowing exactly what future they will have...
Awesome dude! Great work!
Thanks.
Now, I have some great news, and some bad...ish news. lol
I just got three different people with 100 Gallon stock tanks tell me that if we go and pick them up, we can have them. Now granted, my mother helped with that one, and two of them are family, lol, but that's not a bad thing! Now the Gar will have a larger space, the Oscars, Tilapia, etc. Only downside is not being able to see them, which I might be able figure out...

And the bad news. We are working on a sink in the basement so we can start moving tanks downstairs, and it will make doing water chages, etc. easier. Why is that bad? Well, that means that they big indoor pond might be put off a little longer again, but who knows. Still have an entire month of summer, so we'll see what we can pull off.
