I have an established 120 gallon with A JD,GT,JAG I have not added any fish for about 6 months. The PH is 7.2-7.4 and the water quality is pristine, I do 25-50% water changes weekly. The filtration is Rena xp3 and 2 penguin 350s. My question is my jd has been scratching against decor and the gravel for some time now a couple of months or so. I was watching them after my night lights came on and seen the green terror do it last night. I read this article http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8645
I dont think it is parasites or any of that their poop is normal they eat normal and seem to be extremely healthy the JD seems to be thriving. I have doubled up on my water conditioner to detoxify the heavy metals in my water. I am kind of stumped on why she is doing this. Can it be showing off for territory? I dont want to use meds unless I know it is parasites which I am pretty sure it is not.
Oh my Jag has laid eggs twice in two months so I know she is very healthy it almost seems like the JD is trying to intimidate the Jag but they are both female. Hope this is enough info to help me out.
