More pics for ya'all, finally...
I've got a few things to button up: some exterior trim, getting the door to close and latch, weatherstripping the door, a bit more tape on the interior, little things like that. Then the actual fish related stuff will go in.
Lights, AC and skylights are all functional. It is nice and bright in there during the daytime, no lights needed whatsoever if the sun is out. I actually put diffusers on the skylights (triple pane now) so they don't just make two bright spots, that could cause a problem shining on one tank. At night, I turn on the 4 shoplights, two 32watt bulbs each, and it's bright as day. Thinking about getting "The Clapper" so I don't have to run a switch somehow. Right now I have to turn on the lights from a powerstrip on the ceiling. I also have a plug in GFCI thingy that all the power will run through. Has anybody ever tested exactly how effective those are at preventing shocks? I'm scared to test it.
My LFS has an air pump, an Alita AL-40, specifically. It pumps 48 liters/min @ 2.18 PSI. He offered to match the online price I found for it, which is 155 @ kens fish. Does anybody know specifically how much air a sponge filter needs? One source says the AL-40 is good for 50-60 outlets, depending on depth and desired output. I would think that would be good for the amount of tanks I'll have.
Also working on rack design, and finding the best source for tanks... I may be able to get my Father in Law to help me build some for the price of materials, or free if we can use used glass, he's a glazier/ general construction dude.
I couldn't wait and I put a spare 20gal in and threw some java moss bits in, mostly to see how stable water temps will stay, looks promising so far.
