I think he meant $1 per gallon for a brand new tank.. just the tank. 
I dont really want to think what I've spent on my twenty gallon long planted.. probably just $25 for the tank itself and then.. um.. a lot! 
I guess if I wanted a real estimate I'd say $200 for the whole setup, fishies included (and they are always the cheap part!)
Now my 5gal nano reef.. sheesh, lets not go there. Or the ten gallon seahorse tank.. lets DEFINITELY not go there (unless we're talking seagrass cause they were free from a collecting trip!)

wow i feel so jipped, i paid around $70 CAN for my 10 gallon tank and it just came with a hood/ lights, filter and a little sample pack of conditioner and one of tropical fish food. Where do you guys find such good prices man?
