fish tank pics

a tripod or some sort of support is a must... if possible get a cable or remote shutter trigger to further remove any possibilitie of the camera mooving when you are taking the picture

the other thing you need is alot more light on the tank than you would normally maintain on the tank

if you have it on an automatic setting the camera uses a slower shutter speed to get more light on the film to take a normal picture which makes keeping the camera still and getting more light to make the camera take the picture faster the only way to get clear pictures

how do you take good pics of what's in your tank? my pics always turn out blurry. any advice would be greatly appreciated. oh, by the way, i am using a digital camera

I simply set my digital camera on the table to keep it still, or sometimes I'll use a VERY steady hand to hold the camera. I then use MACRO mode for close up shots, or better yet, I will use my manual focus mode (most cameras don't have this feature), for perfect focus. I usually turn on the tank light, and turn off all the lights in the room, to highlight the colors.

It's tricky getting a clear shot of the fish if they're moving though, especially when you have the lights off, since the shutter speed slows down. NEVER use flash for tank pics, because it completely washes out the colors and makes it look very drab.

What kind of digital camera are you using?
