Fish that go with an Oscar?

A con would work well... make sure when you get it(if you do) it is at least 4"

Well guys I finally decided to go with a school of 3 tinfoil barbs and so far they're doing great...was it an ok pick?

Fish with an Oscar

If you're trying to make the Oscar happy, I'd try another oscar, or another of the opposite sex, or a goldfish. Repeat the goldfish every week. If you're trying to make the tank interesting for you, the tinfoil barbs are a great option.

I would add more filtration with adding those barbs.

I've had great success keepin oscars and rift valley cichlids together a number of times. They are colourful, active and pound for pound put up a good fight with large cichlids provided they have typical african style hiding places too.

I kept some yellow labs and chinese algae eaters with my o's and never had any problems. They were all very territorial but they pretty much left each other alone.

Hey there...I have 2 oscars in my 125 Gal tank, along with 2 jewel fish and 2 firemouths...they all get along nicely...I think the trick is introducing them when they are the same size. I don't know how big your oscar is...but if you try and pick other cichlids around the same size...they may do well together...mine did!

or a goldfish. Repeat the goldfish every week.

LOL!

for those of you that kept oscars with some africans, can you tell me what the situations were? (ph/gh levels, etc) i'm just curious what made it work.
