I am cycling my tank right now. While I am waiting I have been debating and reading on what kind of fish I want to get. I know that I am getting some Angel fish (they are so beutiful). I was just going to stick to getting some , cardinals, guppies, jumbo neon tetera, pearl gaurami, some cory cats, and some swordtails.
After reading several artical and peoples comments about them. I have changed my mind about the other fish due to the Angel fish could be a little aggresive at times. I was just wondering what other fish would go well with these.
I have a 55 gal, and I would like to get other good looking fish that will blend well in a community tank. I think that I am going to go with a couple pearl gauramis, as it looks that they will get a long, or maybe some dwarf gauramis. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Joey

Well, my Angels are cool with everything in their tank. If you buy the Angels as Juveniles and let them grow up with the likes of Cardinals then they should see them less as a snack. No garuntee though.
With mine I have Cardinals (think neons might be too snack-size!), Ottos, Cories, Plecs, Danios and Shrimp.
IN my 30G is my largest Angel - 7" from dorsal to anal at present and even she doesn't bother the shrimp and danios.
I have no experience but I hear Rams go quite nicely with them.

just make sure the fish you're adding are larger than the angels mouth and you should be ok - that saying my large female tore the cr*p out of a piece of mussell the other day and the mussell was bigger than her head!

I had two angel fish before (not anymore, they died) But they were fine with the small school of neon tetras (I had 5) I had. Those little neon tetras seem to live a long time too.

Livebearers; Rasboras; some mild-mannered cichlids: Kribs, Rams, etc.; Danios; and tetras, especially larger ones; will all work with angels.

I have kept mine with Rams and larger tetras, I would shy away from anything that is about Zebra Danio size and smaller.
There is a reason, I had a school of 20 zebras in my 55 plant tank with my angels. I noticed after some time that some of my fish/danios started to disappear. I sat one night and watched the tank and saw my angels hide in a huge amazon sword dart out and grab a danio. You could still see the tail wagging as it hung out its mouth. yep, my angels stalked my zebras, it was kinda cool. So if you go with anything, I would go with the larger tetras, such as black skirts or something along those lines. Larger fish should be left alone by your angels. Cories are a great bottom feeder as well as SAEs, which I kept with my angels and a red tail shark.
