Fish under 1"

I'm setting up a 20G aquarium. It's only 24" wide, so I'd like to fill it with fish that are 1" or below in length. I just think it would look cooler to see the fish with more relative room to swim around than larger fish would have.

What are some of the cooler fish out there that are around an inch?

Even guppies can make over an inch. Aside from some danios I don't think there's anything that will stay much below an inch.

lampeyes will stay under an inch jsut........... pencil fish the dwarf kind will stay under

gold ring danios...I have breeding group (finally!!! they spawned) of about 15-20 or so in a 20 long. There is also celestial pearl danios which I would love to try...they are gorgeous IMO. Check out msjinxd threads...she alsways has cool nano fish.

like stephcps said, CPDs are cool. They do require lots of hideouts though. Pygmy gouramis are small as well (around 1.5" though), I've always wanted to get those. There are many other nano fish you could go with, like the many microrasbora species.

Glo light tetra's are a good fish. Good in schools and active. Pretty.

at a local LFS a few months ago I saw balloon blue rams. only 1 inch in length and extremely cute!! Maybe you could find something like these. just do some research on the net. you will find many breeds that will stay small

Are those considered healthy fish, or are they a strain bred off a 'defective' trait?
