Fish waste question.

It can also mean that air is in their waste... this isn't necessarily a good thing.

Aquariumfishguy:
Sometimes my fish leave waste with a bubble in it - I assumed they ate a bubble when they were playing in the filter waterfall/airstone current - is this something to worry about? They seem very happy and it only happens once in a while.

Well I just started feeding my pleco a lot more cucumbers. So that must be why.

I'd guess that cucumbers give them gas! You might switch to zucchinni

I'm not sure it's so much of a "bad thing", but fish should not have bubbles in their waste. They take in a lot of water and air bubbles too, but they should be able to eject them naturally w/o passing them through their stools.

This is perticularly a concern with Goldfish, for example. I have many Goldfish and when you start seeing floaters, it is somewhat of a concern.

sometimes i have just a little turd that refuses to go down the toilet, have to mash it against the side of the toilet with my hand.
