are those weights used for fishing harmful to cherry shrimps? im using 2 pea sized ones on my moss wall to keep the bottom down

Depends. Some fishing sinkers are made from lead, which is toxic to pretty much everything; however, many newer sinkers are made from various other metals, such as tungsten, which are pretty inert.

*EDIT* The little round 'split shot' sinkers are almost always lead based. I recommend removing them immediately. Try stainless steel washers or other hardware instead.

I use rocks (sealed with epoxy) or boiled wood as weights. If a plant is stubborn, tie it using a bit of fishing line. Be sure to trim the ends neatly so nothing gets sucked up into your filter.

As a rule, I would keep out all metals, just to be safe.
