I have a white cloud swimming around with what looks like a monster zit on one side of its body. Anyone know what this might be?

Thanks,
Mike

Sounds like an external parasite to me. Hard to tell w/o more info or a pic.

here are a few pictures of the problem.

To see the pics you need to right click, go to properties and take the ".th" out of the link.

That looks (from what I can see) a lot like a tumor. Was the fish swimming upside down? Might even be some sort of internal problem causing the skin to bulge. Hard to tell:(

It is swimming upright. It just has the really inflamed bump on its side. The bump is a pinkish red, like a bee sting would have. Im guessing to take care of the tumor I would have to spend thousand of dollars on kemo or stick it in the deep freeze and go spend another buck and a half on a new one.

Thanks,
Mike

Yeah, if it's a tumor then you really can't do much but to give him a good home while you can. Sometimes the fish can live a long time with a tumor, other times they go "like that". Just be prepared, thats all.
