Fish with bumps?

I have a silvertip tetra and i've noticed that it has like bumps on its side. It doesnt really have a color variation from its body, its just like his scales are sticking out? It appears to be getting worse. Can anyone help me with whatever this is? Thanks

Hi there. When I looked up the symptoms you described (scales sticking out), and only because the fish happens to be a tetra, the note was that the fish may be spawning and to observe closely for other symptoms. Otherwise, the diagnosis was dropsy. Is this one the only silvertip you have?

definately droopsy, from what ive heard its usually fatal and CAN be contageous (even to fish handlers- fish teburculosis) do a search on -dropsy- you'll get lots of info

I have 2 silvertip tetras. The other one is showing no signs what so ever. Thanks, I will do some searching today and keep my eye out.
