have any of you had luck with sliders in an outdoor pond? The temp doesnt get too cold, enough for koi and goldfish to stand, so would it be ok for the slilder? And have your turtles eaten fish that were longer than 5"???

forgot about this tread
thanks for all the help
the turtles are in an 50g outdoor pond with alot of land
if someone can make my pix smaller for me i could post a pic
i was thinking about adding small fish i dont really have room for big fish

can a red ear slider be in a 30 gallon fish tank with a 6 inch oscar

A 30g would be far too small for an adult slider.

from what they tell me, if you do get fish, they are as good as food.

It seems to depend on the turtle. Some turtles eat anything in the tank, some ignore them.

For what it's worth, I decided to try zebra danios in with my juvie painted turtle. I started with 11. Five disappeared pretty quickly (over the course of a week or two), but the other six are still here, months later, happy as can be. It seems that about 50% of danios are smart enough to evade my particular turtle. ;o)

Very old thread is back from the dead.

As for the new post a RES with an O in a 30gal??? Not even an O is ok in a 30gal its way to small to house either species of fish or turtle more or less both. Try getting a 75gal for that oscar and if U really want a RES then get him/her there own tank.
