thanks for the advice, the second i get home ill do a water change and hopefully get my ph back up. maybe ill pick up some buffer booster i saw that on the shelves at the LFS
I'd stick to baking soda or crushed coral (or any good form of calcium carbonate) There are plenty of threads if you run a search. The LFS buffers are usually either Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda in a fancy box with a higher price tag) or they are phosphate buffers which can be a real problem to use effectively without causing other issues.

ok, its been 5 weeks now and still have high Nitrites. My pH has been a steady 7.8, I keep adding ammonia every day to bring it to 2-3 ppm. What the heck is taking so darn long :rant:
