How much ammonia to use per gal per day?
I started 3-13-04 with 1 drop per gal(20 drops =1cc).
I will add the same every day till cycled.
Is that to much or not enough?

Thx for any feedback.

You should try to keep the ammonia in the tank at 5ppm or so.

For the first few days that means you don't have to add anything.

After that, you will be adding varying amounts, depending upon how fast your bacteria consume the ammonia.

There is no hard and fast, "Add this much every day for X days" formula, because every tank develops a little differently. 1 drop every day might be just what yours needs, it might be too much, or it may be not nearly enough... Let the testing kit be your guide.

Keep the ammonia at 5ppm, and keep testing until after 24 hours, the ammonia goes from 5ppm to 0ppm, and the nitrItes are 0ppm, and there are nitrates present. If I knew how much you should add to your tank I would tell ya, but it's a matter of how much bacteria you have chowing on that ammonia.
