It's been three days Ive been told to do 10ml for every 10 gallons so I have done so for about 3 days and I'm gonna continue as it told me to do 7 times a week for two weeks then change to weekly maintenance. So do I have to wait two weeks??:help: How long do I have to continue they don't say when to stop at a certain point. I would appreciate if anyone can help me out, thanks alot guys!!

do ml of what? Add ammonia? You need to check the ammonia levels with a test kit. Every bottle is different. You'll want your ammonia level around a constant 5ppm or so to get bacterial to start building up. Plus you need a test kit anyway to check nitrite/nitrate levels so you'll know when the cycle is starting and finished.

Hmm... Bio-spira? Where can I buy that at? And how much would it be? :welcome:

Right. I was about to buy one in a fish store tonight, but i was afraid they might be cheaping me. 30 dollars. Searched Freshwater master test kit, a whoopin $17.64

. So i was right after all. :mad2:

10ml of ammonia would be an awful lot... I am cycling my wifes 29g and it only took 2ml to get the whole tank dosed to 4ppm...but like mentioned above it depends on the brand of ammonia as they are not all the same concentration.

Also you dont keep adding it everyday....you should only have to add it daily when it gets to the point that it has started dropping daily(usually acouple weeks)...this is the reason for a test kit so you know when the ammonia level starts dropping so you can dose alittle more to keep it at around 4-5ppm .....If you have added the 10ml per every 10gallons everyday then you have way overdosed your tank with ammonia to a point that no good bacteria can grow as it will kill it off..... Try not to let the ammonia get to 6ppm+ or it can start stalling or even completely stop your cycle.

When I first dosed my 55g with ammonia to cycle it took acouple weeks before I had to ever add anymore ammonia ...just test daily and if the ammonia drops from say 4ppm to say 2ppm by the next day just add enought to get it back at the 4ppm mark.....after you do it for a few days you will be able to judge about how much you think it will take to get you back to around 4ppm.

There is a sticky thread in the Freshwater Newbie section on this board on the subject of fishless cycling.

There is also a very good article called the "Fishless Cycle" by Chris Cow. Google this if you haven't read it.
Also "Fishless Cycle/Nitrogen Cycle" by Jay Luto.
“Nitrogen Cycle” by TheKrib
“Biological Filtration Basics” by James Fatherree

The above should give you a very good understanding of what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how to do it.

Try your local fish stores. It'll probably cost you about 15-20 bucks.

You can read about it here.

I used it along with established media and substrate and it pretty much worked instantly (or overnight).

Ahh I see thanks! :)
