fishless in CA, post move

If you're willing to come up as far north as Santa Rosa, we have Ceasars and Fish Pros which are both pretty nice shops.

yeah, we're up here in Sonoma, also Fish Pros hand picks fish from one of the huge cichlid suppliers in LA or SF, one of the two, so if you want anything you just get in touch with them ahead of time and they can get it. Its two young guys who recently took over the business and they're pretty ethical and skilled.

Welcome to Northern California, fishorama!

Hi! I live in San Francisco. Here's a couple places you might want to check out:

(These are all linked to yelp, but they have their websites listed there too)
Aqua Forest Aquarium - Good place to check out, even if you're not into planted tanks. They don't have a huge variety of fish, but their tanks (all freshwater planted) are all beautifully done.
Ocean Aquarium
Aquatic Central
Lucky Ocean Aquarium

Hey Toasty, I heard that SF wanted to ban the sale of fish entirely. What the heck was that all about? Sounds like a wacko PETA proposal.

I actually haven't heard of it much/at all other than on the internet. People try to pass stuff all the time (not just in SF, but SF is just known for being more 'progressive' and people tend to put more effort into getting heard), doesn't mean it goes anywhere.

Thanks toasty! I've read chinese fish markets are a "good" place to buy weather (food) loaches. Still trying to "get" the Cali political thing, lol. PM'd ya.

Thanks napster, I've read the area is great for planted tank folks, there's a club in/near Sacramento I think. I'm still a low tech plant person. As for discus, I've heard good things about Kenny's discus in Daly City but it'll be a long while before I try them again.
