Jim,
Nice work. I am planning on my fishroom and got some great ideas from your posting.
I have a few questions for you if you dont mind answering.
1) Any reason why you prefer the oil base instead of the latex base DRYLOK for the cement wall? Also, I notice you only apply one coat instead of the recommended two, was one coat of DRYLOK sufficient?
2) For the 4mil vapor barrier, how do you tape the seams and attach to the frame?
3) I notice there is HVAC ductworks in the basement area where you are building the fishroom. Are you using the ductwork to help supply air to the fishroom or you have frame around the ductwork?
4) How are you going to heat the fishroom? Gas or electric? Have you thought of how to deal with the humidity of the fishroom?
5) Could you elaborate on the cold/hot water mixer? How are they connected? Are you using a tankless water heater?
6) Do you use and foam pad under the tank? Are you worry about the leveling of the shelving. The shelving maybe level now but once the aquariums are filled with water, all that weight may shift the stand and affect the leveling.
Since the aquariums are used, I would highly recommend resealing all of them. Is alot of work, but silicon does not last for ever. Resealing them will prevent random leaks from happening in the future.
Keep up the good work. Would be great to see some pics of your fish too.
