Hi,

I'm a bit puzzled on what to do now.. I've been fishy cycling for about 4/5 weeks now. I've had the high ammonia bit & kept on doing water changes till it went down.. god it was a physically & mentally testing time! (its now 0 yay) but I tested it just now & the nitrItes are at 4.0! The test solution turned very purple straight away! I'm used to seeing it only slightly violet.. Do I carry on changing the water till it goes down? The NitrAtes are at 10/20 as usual..

The fish seem perfectly happy, still foraging around on the bottom sucking rocks & gravel with no signs of illness or disease. Their water should be very clean with all the water changes they've had in the last 2 weeks but the nitrIte levels have just freaked me a bit as i've never seen them this high..

Any help would be appreciated.. :)
