so my used 45g has a broken center brace. i've been trying to think of how to fix it and have a couple ideas.

first of all, the brace is broken on the edge, not in the center.

no matter what i do, the break is going to be reattached with 2-part epoxy.

option one:

take a piece of plexiglass and cut it into a T shape to span the break and attach with epoxy.

option two:

take two of these 100lb. picture hooks http://www.govart.com/images/hwr_bulldog100LG.jpg and straighten out the "hook" part to hook over the edge of the plastic on front and back, then tie them together with picture hanging wire so that its taught when the tank is empty.

i could also combine these two methods.

actually i just broke half the brace off on accident, so i'm going with dougalls idea, which is to take a piece of actual glass and scilicone it to the front and back of the tank to replace the brace entierly.

you can order a new brace well its the complete trim/brace i replaced one a few years ago
