personally i think you should try to get on your own feet before you give money to some fish farm corporation.

Why not your services free of charge? You're living off a government check now so it's not like you have a job to quit and wages to lose to move down there. Having an unpaid, unskilled worker on hand to do the menial, back breaking work would be better than the measly $10 or $20 you could send them.
