Right now my Discus are on a mixed diet of frozen foods with the Tetramin Pellets also....i was wondering about other HIGH quality flakes or pellets that others use for Discus.

Tetra Colorbits work great. Have also heard of great success with Tetramin pro crisps...

this is what I use

are they taking flake food ??

I had to 'train' my discus to eat flake

For some strange reason my Discus will not eat the tetra bits. They do however like the omega one flake food and of course the frozen varieties in just about anything.

Tetra Color Bits

Is Tetra Color Bits actually a good choice? I use it, mostly because it's inexpensive, but I didn't realize it was actually a choice food as some of you have said. My discus like it though. I had used AZOO discus pellets at one point, but they were so small, and given the fact that discus (at least in my experience) seem to like to let the food land in the substrate and pick at it some minutes later, I figured these would get sucked into my filter before they could get to them. I never did see them eat the AZOO pellets.

I also use Omega One flakes, Hikari brine shrimp and blood worms as well as Wattley discus formula. My school of neons like all of these too.

I know a lot of discus breeders that use the color bits.

mine love the stuff..the only thing they like more is bloodworms.
