I bought a Flame Angel on Thursday and was wondering if these guys are generally ok with shrimp? I *think* I remember reading that they shouldn't bother shrimp, but I can't remember.

TIA

gcvt- What's your experience with these guys in reef tanks? I'm talking to a guy looking to trade off his flame because it was observed picking at SPS. The tank I would put him in is a 46bow stocked primarily with softies. This guy has no softies in his tank and couldn't say whether or not the fish would bother them. Any input would be appreciated.

At this point, I guess I'm still defending my angel as a "non-nipper" :)

For some reason, the magic number seems to be 12-18 months before they begin to nip at LPS and softies. I have no idea why this is....it just seems to be the number I hear most often.

With that said, I've only had my flame since last April and I haven't had a single problem yet - he's been a model reef citizen so far. I've got my fingers crossed though.

Thank you, sir. It's a beautiful fish, but I'd hate to take him only to loose corals and then have to find another home for it. I'll probably pass on it, as this individual is already known to nip. Appreciate the info.

Just thought I would post a pic of my Flame. I was suprised at how quickly he got acclimated to his surroundings and got out and swimming about.
