fleas???

Don't think its a phase, I'm preaty sure they are there to stay. But not sure, though there are fish that will eat these things like a Mandarin. I am thinking of getting a Mandarin maybe a Target or blue mandarin but will wait for the population of pods to increase alot more. I think that the tank need be setup for atleast 6mons or so. Someone correct me if I'm wrong cause I wouldn't want to get one if he/she can survive.

is the purple algea hard? if so it is coral line algea, that is good for your tank i beleive that purple and grren is good, and red and brown are bad!
hope that helps, correct me if i am wrong exsperienced ones, lol

The coraline other than purple and green are just as fine. Different light levels and collection locations support different types.

its forming on the glass, substrate and rear of the tank!! its also in the ?water inlet tube?

flow should be ok, not super or anything, but ok. my 29 is a bio-cube, i don't run any extra flow on it and it works fine for what i've got in there. like grins said your sand looks nice and clean! the diatom bloom at 4 weeks is normal, it will pass :) from the pics it's kinda looks like the purple on the rock is coraline which is why we need to know if it's slimy or hard...

the sand is crushed coral I think... I know it has to be changed out... just have to find a LFS that has live sand....

now... the brownish red algae on the glass wipes right off... no issues there.... and it IS starting to grow on the bottom...

the purple stuff on the rear of the tank is somewhat soft in some places and hard on others....

there is soft slimy red algae on the front rock of the tank...

and on the rock in the back is what appears to be a HARD solid smooth purple.... substance on the rock.

did all the tests and everything appears to be normal in terms of readings... only thing that caught my eye is an elevated PH from 7 to 8 in the last two weeks.

any ideas?
