Floating ADF? :-/

I once had something like this happen after I switched my ADF and most favorite betta ever into a new larger tank. I came down the next morning and my poor betta was floating sideways, obviously in distress. I found out I had made a major mistake in fixing up the water I put in there.....put a water conditioner dose of "Easy Balance" in the water instead of the water conditioner....it was a mega amount of the wrong stuff !!

Lost the frog the next day and my poor betta hung in there with lots of TLC for about 2 months after the incident...but he was never the same again.

You said that one of the frogs was really new. Now another frog seems to be ailing. I'm sorry if Im not understanding, but was this other frog new, too? Or older? Did you have an older one and then just get a new one a few days ago?

I'd do a few good water changes. Get anything bad that may be in there out. Check the pH before you do the changes though - who knows, something may be off in your water. I trust you checked all the parameters, and not just nitrate or another.

Let us know what happens. That a new frog dies is not completely disconcerning (it is in that the poor frog died, but you know what I mean) but if you're seeing things going on with other creatures in the tank...I'd be a little worried that something is out of whack.

if both frogs were bought at the same store at the same time, i'm willing to guess that perhaps they were sick. nothing wrong with your tank, but something is wrong with the tank they came from.
i havent had much luck with petco fish. i bought a pair of perfectly healthy looking baby angels and only after one day in the tank they died. i brought them back to petco and they tested my water and it was fine. also the tank that i bought the angels from was empty. it was full of angels the day before. the clerk said that they had all died, they had to clean out the tank that morning.
a few weeks later, my gf brought home a spotted cory from petco. after only an hour in the tank, he died. again, my water was fine. and all the other fish were fine. and it was weird, for awhile he swam around just fine. he was exploring the tank and digging in the gravel. i went to eat dinner and i came back to check on the fish to make sure he was ok and he was dead.
i'm careful to not pour the water that the fish comes in into my tank. sometimes pet store water carries parasites and snails that i dont want in my tank. i let the bag float for about 10-15 mins to get it acclimated and then i either catch the fish in my hand or gently net him into the tank.
