Floating bogwood

It sometimes takes 2-3 weeks of saturation to get the bog wood suitable wet to make it heacvy enough to sink on its own.

I had the same trouble with a piece of mopani a while back. But them one day it became suitably waterlogged and went down by itself. If you have a rock or something in there that will weight it down for a while, it will eventually stay by itself.
Time is the best remedy.
 
And sometimes it *never* wants to stay down unless forced. :) I have a piece in my 55 gallon that has been in there a year and a half now that still wants to float when I move the rock pinning it down. I figure there are air pockets in the piece the water hasn't been able to penetrate.
