floating plants for livebearer aquarium

Is frogbit the same as salvia? I used to use salvia as a great floating plant....very small compound leaves, roots much shorter than the dwarf water lettuce.

No, frogbit has long roots similar to water lettuce. It grows flat on the water though, unlike water lettuce.

don't think so

heh, thanks. Then I'm not sure what I have right now. LFS called it water lettuce, and it does look like the wild variety I've seen down south, but it lays flat. And it has the long roots.

Give us a picture and we might be able to ID it better. or go to www.plantgeek.net and poke around there.
