My ramshorn snails are destroying my frogbit. I have lots of other plants in the tank, and they nibble at all of them, but the frogbit seems to be their favorite. Are their any tough floating plants that snails don't like to snack on?

I use to have 2 clown loaches in my tank so no snails. About 3 years ago I gave away the 2 loaches (too Big) and added water wisteria and have had a snail explosion. I have never seen any of the snails eat my plants (and I have lots of plants).

IMO--Snails do not eat healthy plants.

No offense, but are you positive the snails are eating them? I mean have you actually sat and watched them rasp holes in the frogbit?

There are always several hanging upside down from the frogbit. I haven't seen anything else touch the frogbit, except the water and the glass.

Well, it is certainly possible, but as I and others often find correlation is not causation. What does the damage look like?

If they are eating it, I need to know for when I eventually get some Frogbit. I've got Salvinia currently, and I would welcome some munchage from my snails to keep it in-check.

At first it was just holes in the center of the leaves and half moon shaped pieces out of the edges. Then some of the leaves started turning to mush. Some of my other plants have small holes in the leaves as well.

I was under the impression when I got them, that the snails that I have don't eat plants. Based on the rate that they're breeding, I don't think they're being underfed either. Could something else be causing the holes? The same plants (frogbit, hygro polysperma, hygro difformis) are all doing great in my 5 gallon Betta tank. I'm only seeing damage in my 10 gallon invert tank and my 60 gallon tank, both of which have a lot of snails.
