I've been wanting some of the Fairy Moss (Azolla Caroliniana) for months now, finallllly found a site selling it, but its classified as a Federal Noxious Weed and they won't ship to the U.S. It's a very interesting plant too, as it hosts a type of blue-green algae that can take Nitrogen from the air and affix it so it can be used by the Azolla. Just wish I could find a place to get some. :read:

I find it funny (haha and clown funny) that a number of the plants that are sought after in our hobby are listed as noxious weeds. I can appreciate the need to keep invasive plants out of the waterways, but it still stinks that they are so hard to come by at times.

Actually after reading your earlier post Geofied I did a little googling with the common name instead of the scientific and found 2 sites selling Fairy Moss in portions more suitable for aquarium use than the 2 lbs quantities for ponds and such. Just so happened one of them is based right here in TN

TN based site>>
http://www.watergarden.org

Based in Oregon>>
http://www.thewatergardenshop.com

Both seemed to have fair prices to me, the TN site has a $20 minimum on plant orders. I'm going to give them a try when next paycheck comes in.

:dance2: :dog: :dance2: :dog: :dance2:
