Floating Rocks?!?!?

Hi all,

I'm setting up my SW tank tonight... I put my lava rocks in a big tub to clean... and to my surprise.. they float!!! Is this normal, like drift wood?!??! what shouldi do?!??!

Lava rock is a porous rock, it probably has air trapped in it (in this case ALOT of air). If air bubbles dont start to show up on the rock or comming off of it you could try shaking it around.

Ugh! there are some bubbles, but that may just be from the sand.... 24 hours and only 2 have sunk... its odd!! any other tips?

Hold them under the water and turn them over a few times slowly, and shake them.

I ended up boiling every piece.. boy oh boy was that a pain!!! Everything eventually suck... i restacked.. added water.. now i'm waiting for the soup to clear! So excited! Everything looks really great, can't wait to have some photos worth posting.
