I am using a fine point permanent marker to write the date I put the bulb into use on the metal ends.
I finally have a record keeping idea that works, since if I write it down else where I forget which bulb it was. I make it easy to forget because at times I remove the plant bulbs and put in some higher lumen bulbs to take pictures of the tank. Then when I put the plant bulbs back in I don't know which is which unless I have them marked
