Will flourish excel do as my primary carbon source instead of running CO2 injections?:feedback:

That depends on your light source,fert type and schedule and what type plants.Ive kept a heaily planted tank for years with no c02 injection but my plants arent co2 hungry.

also the size of the tank as for larger tanks cost could be prohibitive to dose excel.

In my 58 gal I dosed a capful a day with great results.Depends on what your budget is but I found it doable.

Yes: but do you really need additional CO2 (You have approximately 2ppm naturally)?

It does act as a replacement but there is a limit as to how economical it will be.

The larger the tank, the more expensive it'll be. Anything more than like a high light 30g and excel really starts to add up.

I realize we talked about this a year ago or more, but I think it's important to say for people that don't know:

I think your high light, fertilizer dosed tanks without added co2 are some bizarre exception, not the rule.

oh im just dosing two 10g that each have 3WPG nothing big at all.....yet. but thanks for the info

Thats no a bizzare exception at all .For years I ran my 58 gal with 300 watts of light,fert tabs in the substrate,daily full doses of excel and daily full doses of the entire seachem line with great growth and no algae problems.I grew tired of so much work in the trimming and replanting so backed everything off to what I have now.
