Flourite Black or Eco-complete

I agree with Marv_Levy on that. That is as good a deal as you'll find, although Foster & Smith are quite reasonable as well on shipping on heavy stuff.

They have two sizes of flourite black you can buy.

the other is very nice, the sand.

Hmmm.. I really like the thought of sand vs the gravel. Is it just as good nutrient wise? Also, do you run into the problems/issues most people fo with regular sand ie. worrying about it in the filter etc?

Was a toss up between starting a new thread and just altering this one a bit..
pros/cons of the flourite sand vs gravel?

can anyone post pics of the Flourite Black,Flourite Dark, and the Flourite Black Sand ? any or all

all I can find anywhere is pics of the bag

I'm interested in adding black flourite to my setups now! Anything to make my plants really start to thrive! :)

I have tanks with Ec and Fl. I like the FL as is costs so much less. I don't mind rinsing it as when I am settiung up a tank I am usually wet anyway. As far as plant growth, I think my tank with the Fl does a little better than the EC tank.
One of my tanks has both EC and FL layered and is great. For the cost alone I would go with th Fl.

I just wanted to say thanks for this thread, I had no idea that there was a Flourite sand. I just bought three bags for my new 29g :)

Fluorite is good stuff, as I've gone the plain old sand route as well. Just take my advice and rinse your fluorite very well or you will have dust and residue inside your tank forever....good luck!
