If I were to wash flourite enough, will that make it not cloudy in my tank? I heard from some people that no matter what, their tank is still cloudy...Is this true for you?

When I had Flourite I washed the heck out of it and it was only cloudy for a couple hours after adding it to the tank. It took more than an hour and my hands were bleeding but yeah, clear water.

That was the story for me, used a paint strainer for cleaning, sloooooowly filled the tank and still had murk. The packages came with a clarifier but I chose not to use it. Took several days to clear, prolly should have used the stuff provided but didn't. Good luck.

You can also repeatedly vacuum it to remove excess dust from it once it's in your tank. You'll have the added benefit of changing out the cloudy water at the same time. I've never understood how so many people have cloudy water issues with this (or any) substrate. It's an easy problem to fix.
