Well I thought during my cleaning today I would test out the flow of my filter so I timed how long it took to fill a 1l container and it was 5sec. Therefore (if my math is right) the flow on this filter is.............720 lph the box and bbok rate it for 710 lph.....So everyone who is tallking about the ratings being off due to media, may want to test their flow(s)................Mine is full of aged media (rinsed it today though) and it runs above the manufacturer rating.

Let's see some other true ratings posted here, I think this will help everyone with filter choices.

The other thing I will post here is that I have seen many posts about filter bypass with Fluvals, and I will tell you mine must not bypass much because when the media is full of crap the flow is almost ZERO.......................

For the bucks this thing cost I like it. :dance

At what height was this container? And at what height was the water for the input of the canister?

The canister is on the floor..............Intake is 32" above it and output is 51" above it.

Hagan probliy tested the flow rate with an average amount of head pressure in mind.. like pumping up three feet.
Well, he's pumping to a head height of 4.25' and doing better according to his test, can't beat that if it test true.
I would test atleast ten times and average the test results.

Consistent readings of about 720 lph...........Tested it now 15 times in a row and all within 1 sec.............
