Has anyone tried creating one?

I don't care about your position on hybrids I just want an answer to the question. No offense intended I just don't think we need another thread on wether or not hybrid cichlids are the same as corn....yada yada yada...........

I have a male festae and I think a female trimac. I thought it was a male until day before yesterday when she (I think) put on some massive color. So if they breed, have successful fry, and I line breed them in smaller tanks.........On top I am thinking very seriously of setting up a ninety with breeding texas "escondido", just for their own breeding purposes.........now if I could cull those fry and then breed them back.....if.....hmmmmmmm...........sound like a good project?

I guess there isn't anything wrong with it if you don't let the hybrids out of your own possession...don't sell them or give them away for someone else to accidentally breed them...

No I want to do it just to see if it can be done, I don't think there would really be any profit in it and it will take at least a couple of years, I just wonder how easy it is to manipulate. I mean it has taken humans thousands of years to change and with animals you can do it in a decade. I was just wondering if anyone had tried and what species they used. I know festae and trimac are two primary ingredients.
I am doing the texas for my own but I was just thinking if I took some of the fry and crossed them back in in a separate project. I just think it would be neet to see what color morphs you could come up with.

personally i hate hybrids but thats beside the point.

yes it would be a good experiment and also a fun 1 tho being very time consuming. if you do do it then make sure to keep us all posted. it should be very interesting! to make the best FH i would get F0 fish (or wild fish)
