Yes, I know I am a newb and the flowerpot is out of my league, so purchasing one isn't an option at this point. I've been told that these things are difficult if not near impossible to keep. My question is why?? These are probably the most beautiful corals I've seen. (Although I'm quite fond of fox coral) Is there some sort of unique feature that makes keeping them so darn tough? BTW, my shrooms are HUGE. Whoever advised me on buying shrooms as my first --thank you.

There is good news on the horizon about keeping them. The main issue is feeding them, and knowing what they eat. Different species have different preferences, and some do better in aquaria than others.

Justin Credabel, who is leading the field, did a writeup for ReeFKeeping online here:http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-10/nftt/index.php

When you feel ready, try to get a frag from a colony that's thriving.
